Drinking_and_DrivingIn the United States alone, 9,878 people died in alcohol-impaired driving crashes in 2011, accounting for 31 percent of the total fatalities on roadways. Although this represents a decline from previous years and the fatality rate per vehicle miles traveled remains the lowest on record, the losses remain too high. Every drunk driving death in every part of the world should be preventable.
